Our Story

Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Habitat for Humanity-North Central Georgia is a 501(c)3 Christian housing ministry serving the North Metro Atlanta area, operated as an independent affiliate of the Habitat for Humanity International.

Mission and Motivation

Our mission is to seek to put God’s love into action, bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope. We believe that everyone needs a stable, affordable place to live, and that making that happen is a community effort.

So, What’s the Story?

Habitat for Humanity International was initially founded by Millard and Linda Fuller in 1976 in Americus, GA, shortly after returning from building homes in Africa.

As the need for affordable housing increased in the North Fulton area, a group of people banded together to find a solution. In May, 1992, the first meeting of Habitat for Humanity-North Fulton took place at the Roswell United Methodist Church, and finished its first house on June 12, 1993. In March 1995, the road to affiliation led to the incorporation of Habitat for Humanity-North Fulton, Inc.

In January 2006, the affiliates in North Fulton, Cherokee, Forsyth, and Dawson Counties merged to form Habitat for Humanity-North Central Georgia to better address the housing need in Metro Atlanta.

At present, we have built, rehabbed, and repaired more than 440 homes, serving over 1600 individuals throughout our entire area. Since its founding, Habitat for Humanity and affiliates have built over 1,000,000 homes around the world.

The success of our mission is a team effort of everyone involved, but is brought into focus through the guidance and experience of our Board of Directors.
