Student Engagement Program

Whatever Your Experience Or Skillset, There Is A Place For You To Volunteer At Habitat.

Habitat-NCG’s Student Engagement program engages high school students in North Fulton, Cherokee, Forsyth, and Dawson Counties with Habitat for Humanity. Student Engagement mobilizes young people to assist with sponsoring and building a house each year. Through Student Engagement, students gain a better understanding of their communities and poverty housing. All students are engaged in fundraising, education and advocacy activities and those over 16 are eligible to assist with the construction of homes.

The Four Elements Of Student Engagement
  • Education
  • Advocacy
  • Volunteering
  • Fundraising
How do Student Engagement groups raise money to build houses?

There are several different ways to raise money, from running a car wash to writing grant applications.

Check out a new way to help your high school Habitat club raise funds to build a Habitat home! It’s easy and fun! Your Club’s president should simply click the button below, set up their personal page then set up the high school team page. Tell us your “Why”, upload pictures and share with your friends, family, and fellow students!

I’m 16 or older. Can I help build a Habitat house?

Yes! You can participate in almost all aspects of construction of a Habitat for Humanity home. You are required to have your guardian sign this waiver and turn in at sign in on the construction site.

I’m younger than 16. Can I help build a Habitat house?

There are several ways you can participate; you can raise funds, advocate, reach out to involve your community, and help plan events. You can also participate in Host Teams on the build site. While you are not allowed to participate in active construction, you can help with volunteer hospitality. Click here for the Host Team agreement.

This sounds great! How do I join Student Engagement?
